ACTS OF COMPASSION HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THE LIVES OF FAMILIES

Discover the wide range of volunteer opportunities at Family Promise – from serving meals, to providing financial literacy training, to assisting with fundraising events. There is something for everyone!

Volunteers play an essential role in helping families experiencing homelessness attain sustainable independence.

Make it Personal. Volunteer.

  • Opportunity for interfaith, hands-on ministry.

  • A great chance for you and your co-workers/business to give back to your local community.

  • Get your whole family involved; great way to engage children fun, age-appropriate activities.

  • Wide-range of volunteer activities to fit schedule and desired level of commitment.

  • Give the gift of hope for a brighter future.

How can you get your congregation, group, or office involved?

  • Day Center Volunteer: Maintenance, landscaping or gardening, coordinating and organizing donations, answer phones.

  • Host Sites: Provide hospitality to guest families directly in your congregation or site. These volunteers provide meals, overnight hospitality, and a friendly face for families to feel safe. Congregations often provide financial support to help aid our mission in assisting families moving forward.

  • Become a Host: Hosts can offer up their space to house four families for a week at a time, or they can assist us in obtaining rental apartments for families.

  • Support Congregations:  Provide in-kind resources or financial support in partnership with a host congregation.

  • House Warming: Donate  household supplies  for families moving into their new homes or basic necessities while in our program.

“The homeless community is not faceless. A little boy that came to our program said he has never felt so welcome in a church before; that it felt like home. And that for me as a volunteer was an amazing experience to know that he is loved by not only his parents, but by his community.”
